Grammar Matters - English for Teaching Purposes

<p>The Communication Skills for ODFL (CS4ODFL) online course is a four-week course that will help teachers to improve their communication skills in Open, Distance and Flexible Learning (ODFL) contexts. The course is particularly suitable for teachers in the Pacific Region but will be beneficial to any developing country context. Participants will spend approximately 3 – 5 hours of effort per week to earn the digital badges and certificate of completion. Successful completion of the course will enable participants to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop an understanding of the role of inclusive and equitable communication practices, teaching presence, and course netiquette for successful ODFL delivery.</li>
<li>Learn about the uses of technology and media for efficient and accessible communication in an ODFL environment.</li>
<li>Review and discuss key pedagogical considerations when designing course structure, learning activities, feedback, and communication strategies.</li>
<li>Recognise the attributes of an effective online facilitator.</li>
<li>Gain hands-on experience in weaving online discussions and interactions including strategies for conflict-management in the ODFL space.</li>

<p>This is a free-of-charge, self-paced and self-directed online short
course designed to enhance your proficiency in English grammar
rules. Successful completion of the course will:</p>
<ul>
<li>help you to identify the components of a basic sentence, use punctuation correctly, apply strategies to avoid commonly confused words and formulate grammatically correct sentences.</li>
<li>reward you with a micro-credential certification in the form of a digital badge, which can be displayed, accessed, and verified online.</li>
</ul>


Enhancing Grammar Basics

<p>This workshop will make your work easier by showing you how to create online/digital worksheet for your students using Google Form, a free online tool, with a variety of question types, such as short answer, long answer, multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, to select from. The workshop will enable you to:</p>
<ul>
<li>assign points, set answer key and add feedback for responses. The worksheet can either be instantly, automatically graded with scores revealed to the individual or you can provide feedback upon review.</li>
<li>allow students to attach files/photos of their work where needed and you can also download all data collected from students.</li>
